Until then: I'll be on a much needed vacation for 3 weeks (without internet and offline) to Nepal where I'll be trekking in the Himalayas and trying to top my 475k step count from the campaign! (Yes, that’s my version of relaxing)

We've been waiting for this for a long time. We're so excited about what's to come and the good work we will be able to do. Stay tuned.

After the last two years have seen our city make the front page of the Seattle Times for our divisive leaders, and 31 years after incorporation: Newcastle will for the first time ever be governed be a Democratic majority - a 6-1 majority.

Last night was an emphatic and historic win for not just myself but for this city: ALL 4 races had a clear margin of victory (that will grow in the coming week) greater than any of the council races we've had the last 4 years.

I’ve been myself no matter what, even if that meant challenging convention or being vulnerable. I’ve been the person I want to see more of in government. I’m proud of our campaign and what we’ve stood for! (And man oh man I’d like to keep serving more)

One of our city staff once said: “Paul is the exact same person in a Council meeting and on the Dais that he is whenever you talk to him in any other setting.”—

Not taking a title or incumbency for granted and working damn hard to put myself out into the community. Not blinking or acting unprofessional when lies and heat are directed right at us. Grounding our work in making government more inclusive for people of all ages, backgrounds, and income brackets

We’re all tired of politics at this point, but from the bottom of my heart, I’m asking you: Please VOTE, tell your Newcastle friends to VOTE this year, and make sure they fill in bubbles next to the following-

We are closer than I’ve ever been to truly thoughtful and compassionate leadership in Newcastle - with 3 open seats and myself as the only incumbent defending his seat, this is our best opportunity to change our local leadership for good.

Fighting back and organizing the people I believe truly represent this city; to march for Pride month, and get young people and working class families to pay attention to their local government. Shockingly losing my dad to a heart attack only 10 days after announcing I was running for re-election.

I’ve shown you time and again I won’t quit on you - Vote early, vote often!

She also didn’t attend her Planning Commission meeting that night, in order to performatively walk out of the forum - the commission didn’t have a quorum of members, meaning the meeting was cancelled, wasting city resources and our city staff’s time.

than over the last decade prior. Or my opponent: who at our one candidate forum chose to deliver a short opening statement punching down at me for being a renter (36% of Newcastle residents btw), then walked out of the forum in protest without answering any more questions.

They've very importantly SHOWN UP for Newcastle in the community despite being the smallest city in their district. I'm eager to continue the hard work with them to make Newcastle a great place to live.

I've been fortunate to know and work closely with each of them. They've helped us secure funding for critical projects once I started bugging them about Newcastle 4 years ago - despite Newcastle not getting state funding for the prior 11 years!
