Nice to see a blue plaque and plinth on Wistaston Road in Crewe to commemorate the women’s rights campaigner, Ada Nield Chew. In the 1890's she wrote letters to the Crewe Chronicle exposing the conditions the women worked in. The needle and bobbin represent the clothing factory she worked in.

Lots of different community groups took part in the Peoples Parade in Stoke yesterday - just a shame the weather wasn;t better!!!

Nice to see the Peoples Parade in Hanley yesterday to celebrate 100 years since Stoke was given City status. And thankfully the rain did stop for a short time at least

Finally got round to doing the Hale Village circular walk, near Widnes. Only 2.5 miles long and you go out to the lighthouse with views across the Mersey to Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Helsby and the Clwydian hills in N Wales. And the planes to Liverpool Airport fly right over!!!

Not sure I'd describe it as "throbbing", but it's big and erect....

Trainers? I remember wearing pumps. Black slip ons for indoors, and white lace up ones for outside. I think I probably had trainers later in high school, but I can't remember what trainers I wore this morning, never mind ones from the 1980s 🤣

Signed. I was actually visiting Monkey World in Dorset on Tuesday and got to see Oshine, a female orangutan originally from South Africa who now lives with the young orangutans in the nursery. Hopefully something can be done for Opal.

Geoffrey acting very suspicous on that train. He lifts the kids onto the train, and then asks what their names are. Next minute he's showing them his swimming trunks. Thank God he only got as far as spotting a tree when playing I Spy....

For anyone near Liverpool, the Mersey Tunnel tour is well worth doing. Some very entertaining guides, a fascinating look behind the scenes and you get to stand inside the tunnel

Did the walk from Widnes to Rucorn via the old Silver Jubilee Bridge this morning, with a few other bridges in view as well. The old bridge is still an impressive sight.

Was able to catch the last evening of Chester Cathedral's 'Poppy Fields' light show. This reflected on the end of the two World War's, and rather poignantly, looked at hopes for peace in the future.
A timely reminder, and a very beautiful light show
