i'm a freelance query editor. for fiction, as you know, the bio can be ~2-4 lines. but in nonfiction, the template proposal i use, from jane friedman, is 50 pages and includes ...

and i would bet that the people feeding these things into ai don't know the difference.

#amquerying, there are basically two types of people:

1) those who own their mistakes.

2) those who don't.

thanks to @meaganburgad.bsky.social for showing us that when she makes a mistake, she limits dissent, which is a way to avoid owning the mistake.

so, a bit curious: you want grace as you work through subs, but you have no grace for the writers who subbed to you?

this might not be the approach to professionalism you thought it was.
