I think it’s of note to mention that in modern romance languages, there isn’t really a distinction between “maze” and “labyrinth”. “Maze” in French is labyrinthe, and in Spanish: laberinto. I imagine it’s the same in Ancient Greek… making any distinction a modern (& English only) one.
