The entire stock market, with its options and futures and ETFs and everything else, is based on just mixing and matching the stocks ~4000 companies.

That’s so few companies on which to base so much of the financial industry!

Ammunition makers (Olin, Northrup Grumman, etc) hate the idea of rail guns because it means they sell pieces of metal and not complicated multi-piece stuff with chemicals in it. The Wikipedia article has all the weird language I associate with a heavy pr campaign. eg
