GILLIGAN’S SANDWICH

Just sit right down and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of a turkey sub.
That found its way from U street,
To a court in our nation’s hub.

The sandwich was a special one,
For it smashed on an ICE man’s chest.
Like Mexico and China,
We didn’t send our best.

@gtconway thoughts?

PREDICTION: Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will soon be regarded as one of the historically most influential, intellectual and important justices of the SCOTUS.

She has already positioned herself as a peerless and fearless voice of conscience, always ready to call out hypocrisy and sophistry.

Unaccustomed as I am to quoting (any) Cuomo, the late Mario Cuomo said, "You campaign in poetry, but you govern in prose."

Mamdani has been nothing less than poetic in his brilliant campaign. Should he win, the slog of governance and the intransigence of entrenched power will be immense.

LBJ was ... unique. Here's an actual recording of him calling the Haggar Clothing Co. to order some pants made to spec. Classic LBJ - blunt, borderline extortionate, (ahem) colorful, and irresistible, in its way.

This convo (and tape) would be impossible today!

Somewhere, somehow, in some recess of the Capitol building, I hope there breathes a Republican with 1/10th the backbone that John McCain had. He screwed up aplenty in his life, he knew it, and he admitted it.

But when it counted, at least on this occasion, he put the American people first.

I don't know why this took me by surprise ... I guess I've been in shock at the here and now. But, wow.
It's not expected to be completed until Jan 2029. The confidence that he has that he'll be able to enjoy it thereafter tells you everything you need to know about what they're doing today.

All the gold and glitter, all the money and adulation that he buys cannot change the fact that he goes to bed and awakens in the morning alone and reviled, even by his own family.

He is at best a meal ticket and worth more to them after he dies than in this life.

No one will mourn him. No one.

While Trmpf is metaphorically dropping shite on the American people, Putin is literally raining death and destruction on kindergartens in Ukraine.

Someday there must be a reckoning for both.

Sean Duffy: "If we go to the south pole of the moon, we can set up a base. We want to put up fission power. We think we can have longterm stays on the south pole of the moon."
