That’s probably just how the USPS decided to handle it because it’s easier to manage and apply, the EO lists two options on how to handle calculation of duties and taxes and one of them is to go based on the tariff rate times the value of the good.

Suffice to say we are cooked is correct. I work on the 3PL side of customs brokerage and it’s been a mess (and egregiously expensive for importers) trying to deal with all of the country-specific tariffs on our end so I can’t imagine what kind of headache couriers are facing with this going away.

The couriers to decide. They won’t be allowed to do part one way or part the other, they have to lock in one of those two ways to do it and apply that to all shipments. They can change their mind and do the other one if they provide CBP notice, but it’s still one or the other for everything.

Sheer number of payments they’ll have to make to continue business, plus these new duties can either be paid as a flat amount based on the country of origin’s reciprocal tariff rate (I.E. $80 for anything <16%) or the actual tariff rate based on the value of the good. And that will be entirely up to

Slow down drastically and become incredibly more expensive. Currently couriers require payment for duties/taxes/their fees up front before they’ll deliver on anything over $800, and I doubt that’ll be different for this so who knows what that’ll look like on the importer’s side of things and the

They tried to do this in his first term for just China and it was shot down at the time because there was no infrastructure for it, idk why they expected that to change in the last few years. Once they get the infrastructure in place to even be able to actual clear customs everything is going to

They have advised that they want to get rid of it, but removed it from the executive order that went into effect on the 4th because they don’t have adequate systems to “fully and expeditiously process and collect tariff revenue.” Once they have that they’ll get rid of it, but no clue when that’ll be

Best of luck with the lines as well 🫡. My friends and I are doing the divide and conquer plan which worked pretty well last year so I can’t imagine how much time you’ll have to spend on that alone

My initial list of cards to get signed was like 80+ and I had to really look at the list and cut it down by about half so I didn’t spend more money on signatures than anything else lol. Definitely quite a process looking at every artist’s portfolio, finding what all I’d want, and getting it ready

Thanks! I also made it a yorion companion deck because I love that bird and showing up with a 120 card double sleeved commander deck is a great way to put people on edge lol.

In an attempt to make Atraxa, grand unifier more “fair” I made it an umori companion deck and it’s a ton of fun trying to keep the balance of artifact and enchantment creatures to make Atraxa draw more than 2 cards. Artifact lands and grist are also huge

I remember first really getting into commander around 2017 and feeling like a genius for figuring out using a commander’s sphere before combat for mana, sacrificing it to draw a card, then getting it back with sun Titan. Simpler times lol

I usually refer to it in time because it’s easier to track after the fact, and on average I’d say 60-90 minutes depending on how locked in we are or if we goof off and get distracted.
