Etsy itself is a big part of this. Pushing sellers to offer big sales & free shipping. Driving near unrealistic turn around for complete custom items. Etsy wants small sellers that function like Amazon and you can't have both. The site now is a product of their demands on sellers.

They are trying to fix it. It's not easy & it got out of hand FAST. Sellers are DOWN by 7% - which is good. It means the bans on junk shops are working, it just takes time. Etsy has a big PR problem & needs to fix it's image for buyers & sellers and restore faith.
