18 U.S. Code § 597 - Expenditures to influence voting.
It is against US law to pay people for votes, or to even propose such a thing. Trump cannot pay Greenlanders to vote a particular way in a referendum.

I was watching a panel discussion yesterday on CBC television in Toronto, and they were discussing what happened in Minneapolis. The consensus was "we always saw Americans as our cousins, but these cousins are a lot more distant than we thought they were".

Media aside, what are the real consequences for Trump, for failing to seek Congressional authorization? Anything? The GOP in Congress aren't going to go against anything Trump does, and he knows it. Your checks and balances are worthless in practice. Trump has gamed each and every one of them.

Back when Trump was going on about Canada becoming the 51st state, I think someone must have told him that Canadians were concerned about healthcare. His response was "they can buy health insurance". That was it. There is no chance that this man will ever fix healthcare for Americans.

If we're lucky, Trump will just keep ignoring advice from his doctors.

Because they don't have a category called "Nazi of the Year".
