She’s never allowed to win. She’s never allowed to have the last laugh. She’s genuinely only there to suffer, but her presence still adds so much. The WoL is a weapon, and Ysayle has no desire to be. The god slayer, and the god summoner. PLUS. PLUS PLUS PLUS

So like. Then we get HW ysayle, and we see a kinder, gentler side to her, somebody desperately yearning for peace but having been pushed to the brink, and that kindness is constantly challenged. How often is she called all but stupid by the plot for her desire for pacifism?

And she is the person who directly calls us out for our actions. She looks us in the eyes and says we’re fools for fighting for causes we barely understand. She all but tells us we are going to fall for our hubris. And then like, the whole thing with Nabriales (iirc) calling her the vessel???

Like. ARR Ysayle is this mysterious and dangerous figure who is raised up as a real threat, and then we face her and she uses Hydaelyn’s words against us?? She serves as such a direct mirror to the WoL, and a perfect example of what we could’ve been if the scions hadn’t gotten to us first.

Currently there are 3 npcs that the players are attached to. Each of them have the possibility of dying during the story. It just now hit me that all 3 of them have replacements that are objectively worse than the originals if they do die. I’m grinning like an evil villain rn
