In September I became Health Editor of Pangyrus Literary Magazine. Today the first piece I was involved with accepting and editing for the magazine was published! I feel a sense of pride akin to when my children do something awesome.

Thankful to @newsweek.com for publishing my essay. I preferred my original title, which was "Viruses don't care who you voted for". I was thinking about all the wonderful, hardworking colleagues I had the honour to work with at CDC, and in the DRC, as I wrote this.

On the premise, "You get better at what you do" I set myself a goal of 21 days skiing this last season. I skied 24 days! Lots of day trips with 5am starts. Lots of mum and daughter time, family time, and so many fabulous people along the way. Photo credit: Kathleen Dooher
