There’s goals in that list from the likes Marmoush and Foden but a serious lack of creativity. Not much point in having Haaland, Marmoush, Doku, Foden or Savinho making runs if there’s no one who can get the ball to them. Don’t think Bernardo or McAtee will be with us next season either.

Tebas has been involved in a long running crusade against PSG, Manchester City and Newcastle which this is just another part of. His political views might have something to do with it all the same.

It was reported 2 years or so ago and Tebas admits he’s heard nothing further. Can’t see the EU wanting anything to do with it, more a cynical ploy from the La Liga boss.

I’d be tempted to start Doku and decide between Phil and Marmoush as a 10. I’d also start Kovacic over Bernardo at the moment, more an issue with Bernardo’s form rather than Kovacic performing well

I think his hunger is gone a little, he had his head turned last summer and hasn’t really been on it this season. There’s no one better with the ball at their feet but we’ve conceded a few where it looks like he should have done better. His final 10 minutes against Real at home were not great

And a keeper and potentially another centre half! Agee though two high quality new midfielders transform this team.

It’s for an Irish audience, not enough love for City over here so will happily cheer whoever we play. Things may change as kids get older, lots of young City fans, older ones like myself are rarer

Great piece. Trying to placate racists with increasingly right wing policies never works. Centrists only wearing the racist’s clothes don’t fool the racists into supporting them but worse it mainstreams abhorrent ideals.

Completely agree, most of the second half we were unable to keep the ball and Madrid getting chance after chance. Midfield non existent once Stones went into defence. Still gutting to throw it away after it looked like it might be our night. Huge rebuild this summer, 2 maybe 3 midfielders needed

Thought we were very poor for long spells second half. Midfield woeful again, KDB was poor and Kovacic all over the place. Gundogan isn’t able for top level football anymore. We couldn’t keep the ball at all.

Cambiaso and Luiz should at least give us more legs. Any two of Gundogan, Bernardo and Kovacic is a disaster waiting to happen.

It’s been a perfect storm, injuries to key players plus ageing players plus off form players and adding in poor recruitment. Having defenders back will help enormously but only because we are struggling in both boxes. Our creativity has dried up and yesterday’s performance from KDB was very worrying

One of the issues is that we always play with limited margin for error. Press poorly, we have problems, defend counters poorly we have problems, midfield underperform we have huge problems. All of these issues are at the moment. If the injury situation improves so will we but we need reinforcements

Before today I thought we needed a DM and a CB in January, let Akanji play right back. After today I’m convinced we have to buy a right back asap, Walker shouldn’t start a premier league or Champions League match for us again. He’s costing us a goal a game. Without Dias today we lose 4/5 nil.

I’d be shocked if we didn’t buy a midfielder in January. Not sure if Zubimendi would move as he turned down Liverpool but if he’s keen he has a release clause. We don’t normally do much business in January but we have to now. Other clubs have bough well in January Liverpool, Palace, Chelsea & Villa

100% agree, I think he lacks conviction in every thing he does. He has ability but his final ball, his shooting and tackling are short of what’s needed. He’s simply not brave enough
