I'm kind of turned off by American football, college and professional. There's too much ego and money in it for it to appeal to me any longer. Same with baseball. Money is killing everything.

Nice photos of the foxes. We had a mother fox make her den under a storage shed, and saw six little ones. They grew up very fast. I could watch them from about ten feet away.

The weather was crazy in upstate NY this year, and while I've had no Monarchs for a few years now, I was very sad to also have no Swallowtails this year. I always grow lots of dill for them, but I didn't even see a single one. I did have one Question Mark butterfly though.

Go to a library and just browse. If you can't find something to interest you, start to panic. You may be dead already.

That's hilarious. They'll be living with that disfiguration for a long time. I'm pretty sure it will look bizarre in the nursing home.
But plastic surgeons love it because many of those with faces like Charlie McCarthy will pay even more to have them reversed.

The war between the sexes is going to have to be called off. Guys just need to see women as people, not as aliens to conquer. Women as friends ? Try that first. After you see that they are more honest than your male friends (in general) alliances are easy.

From reports of the past, this is something the fuhrer enjoys. If only it weren't a pain in the ass for the rest of the world. But that's never bothered him before. I'll be glad when he moves back to Moscow.

I spent my whole working life in hospitals. Nurses do the work. the heavy lifting in saving lives. One night I saw a ninety pound nurse on a gurney, on top of a huge policeman and doing chest compressions. He had been shot. He survived thanks to a nurse named Nonie. True story.

I went fishing with my cousins a long time ago. I had never actually fished before. I caught a rainbow trout and was so ashamed of myself. There was no way I was going to kill any more of them. They're a living advertisement for the beauty of the natural world. It took two joints to get me over it.

Poilievre should relax more. He's overexposing himself and making a total ass of himself. Not that it isn't an accurate portrait of the man, but it's still pretty repellent. Nobody needs the stuff he sells.

More people should have your allergies. They might save themselves a lot of upset stomachs and ill health. When I buy food, I look at the labels to see what's actually in the bag, box, or can. I don't feed junk to my dog, so why would I take the weird chemicals into me.

Isn't that crazy ? Homemade cranberry sauce lasts for a long, long time, even if only refrigerated. It must be the acidity which keeps it. And freezing it is genius. Then you have a delicious condiment all year long. Putting orange in it almost makes it seem like an exotic treat. 👍

The "grain-free" idea sounds very seductive. But it doesn't work for all dogs. And more dogs than you might expect have renal problems later in life. For non-meat edibles for my dogs I try them on natural fruits (apples mostly) and vegetables (they seem to like broccoli, oddly).

A grandmother's love can be a sustaining influence. I think I learned my own capacity for self-sacrifice from mine. I have her beanpot, the one she baked the baked beans in. They were as rich and thick and tasty as any of the most expensive meals I've ever eaten, and much better really.

My grandmother was a wonderful cook. Watching her cooking a turkey was a treat in itself. I learned that the little lump of fat at the back end of the turkey, which was always removed by her, was called "The Popes Nose". I'm eighty now, and I am looking at her portrait when she was two years old.

My very favourite cooking video of all time is one with the Two Fat Ladies making Potatoes Anna. If I remember correctly, there were several pauses in the preparations while estimating the additions of lard. Their show was wonderful.
