The Demyan Bedny Prize is a contemporary award in literature and art for Russian-language authors. Founded in 2009, its organizers describe it as the only Proletarian Prize in Russia and the Soviet Union.

I won't argue, but the question is how good is Deng Xiaoping himself?))

Maybe it's worth writing to them directly?

Sorry for the large number of comments. I'm new to this social network. When I was preparing my comment, I didn't realize that I could only reply very briefly here.

What I observe in Russia across different social groups is that, once people realize how AI can be applied to their own professions, they promptly make use of it. Therefore, the most likely outcome, in my opinion, is the further precarization of wage workers and adjacent social groups.

The only exceptions are short-term social upheavals, such as the collapse of the USSR, when a huge part of society suddenly became marginalized and “lumpenized.”

Will a qualitative leap in AI bring about such an upheaval on a global scale? I’m not sure—unless it coincides with a new world war.

Moreover, in my view, an essential characteristic of the lumpenproletariat is its subordinate position in both numbers and social significance compared to the proletariat.

As for the escape into the woods, I'm reminded of one of my favorite Futurama episodes, where Bender tried to fight the update and degraded his body, becoming wooden. It later turned out to be just a disturbing dream he had while the update was being installed.

I would compare those who now seek to avoid the consequences of the AI revolution and find a niche serving the ultra-wealthy not to the lumpenproletariat, but rather to the potential labor aristocracy, in the terminology of Marxist sociology. There are few vacancies available for that role.
