The rabbit did not escape. Yesterday morning I noticed about 8 magpies coming out from under the car, each with beak full of rabbit fur. A few minutes later, a sharp-shinned hawk arrived, scattering the magpies. The hawk dragged the rabbit out but then flew off. The weasel returned to salvage lunch.
