Part of the reason people ignore fundamentals in favor of fads is because fundamentals are simple. Simple is effective, but simple is not easy. The best books, coaches, and teachers are rarely reinventing the wheel. They are helping you apply—regularly practice—the fundamentals.

No, you're going to make the right training decision day after day, EVERY day, between now and race date x, and you're going to see what fitness those decisions get you come race date x.
