Felt’s “Primitive Painters“ was a great single. I also bought another of their releases “sunshine bathed the golden glow.” Another wonderful song.

It was interesting to see Chumbawamba appear in the indie singles, many years before “Tubthumping” took them on to TOTP

Big row in Bath because the council leases an allotment site from a private landowner. But the landowner wants to sell the land and all allotment holders have to go by Oct 31. The council offered to buy the land but it was refused. www.bathecho.co.uk/news/communi...

Thanks. I’m really enjoying your journey through the indie charts of the 1980s. It certainly brings back a few memories.

Big numbers for G&S and W&G, EastEnders also over 5 million!

I've enjoyed reading your blog every week as I had quite a few of those records. I'm looking forward to seeing what was charting in the indie chart in 83. How many weeks was New Order's "Blue Monday" at number one?

I’ve found some of the tickets from concerts I went to in the early 1980s in Birmingham. Most of them were at the Odeon. I do remember the Stranglers gig was disrupted by a stage invader and the band walked off. They did back come again and finished the show.

I saw a few concerts at the Birmingham Odeon in the early 80s - Echo & The Bunnymen, Teardrop Explodes, The Stranglers. Also New Order at the Tower Ballroom, I think that was '83. I've still got some of the ticket stubs somewhere. I'll have to see if I can find them

Good night for BBC One. Strictly is still a ratings monster
