2️⃣ This decline is particularly strong when right-wing populists are electorally successful, exploiting these policies for reactionary, anti-elitist rhetoric.

🔍 Our key finding: Active participation of national parties and a thriving political culture (proxied by higher voter turnout in municipal elections) foster greater civic engagement among immigrants.

In recent elections, the turnout averaged only 13%, ranging from 5.4% to 26.5% across municipalities. We're exploring factors contributing to this regional variance to better understand how to potentially boost engagement.
