Or even just something like a student ID or a zip code. Just knowing an ID number should not be considered a secure form of identification, it's ridiculous. The onus should be entirely on the creditor in such a stupid situation to prove they actually have an agreement with the person in question.

Certainly possible, but the fact that they had their own name like gilded onto the edge of the tape door seems to suggest something a bit more custom, although that could have still been done after the fact.

After poking around it seems that Matsuo Kou is on record saying it was 35mm and that they selected the stock they used because they liked its effect of grain and color rendition, with the intention that the film be seen more or less exactly how it printed without correction to match the cel colors.

There's a lot of contradictory info that's been swirling around re: that title. 16mm vs 35mm, OCN destroyed vs extant (would make sense if maybe it was shot on 16, it being intended as an OVA and all, blown up to 35 for theatrical, and then the 16mm element lost so all that remains is a 35mm IN?)
