Dar oare domnul Simion mai are interdicția aia de a intra în UA? Un dezastru să zicem "mai mic" nu e totuși un dezastru?

Looks like SU7 is selling better than M3 in China, next year probably YU7 will beat MY, I wouldn't be surprised

Interesting, I see only Chinese EVs

You're right; Xpeng basically have these 2 different NGPs, they most likely renounced using lidars for cost reasons but they could anytime add them back to any new model since they already have the system. Not sure how much matters what elon melon is saying (any more)

Xiaopeng launched last year p7+, the new model was also an inauguration of its new camera only adas system (which will also be on top trim Mona), at this point Xpeng seems moving away from lidar

On Xiaopeng P7i there's this issue, I was a bit surprised tbh because in principle lidar should perform well under the condition but real life beats this, maybe computing power or algorithm or simply shmutz covering the lidar? Lidar positioning low VS up? Don't know

Lidar also doesn't properly work on rainy condition, probably many reflections increase the errors

February 22, 2025 at 10:18 AM
The whole theater might just be for US getting to Russian resources if they ditch Ukraine... In fact sadly this might be a more lucrative "deal" for the orange clown

Emm, it's more likely that before the end of the decade CATL will bring to production ss batteries and by 30's probably large scale production, Merc will survive by then but will be much smaller, they already lost momentum
December 12, 2024 at 3:18 PM
Agree, at this moment Europe has nothing which can compete with CATL or even smaller suppliers. This situation somehow resemble China a few decades ago in relation to internal combustion
December 10, 2024 at 12:50 PM
I agree this is better than simply importing finite products but only time will tell if this will actually bring innovation in the EU
December 10, 2024 at 12:19 PM
Stellantis is already buying CATL batteries and in order to avoid import taxes they come up with this JV, however it's very likely CATL will still use their supply chain which is raw materials, machinery, R&D, etc. from China. Saying this will "cuts reliance on asian imports"...reality is less fancy
December 10, 2024 at 12:18 PM
Wow, similar to its price in China
December 2, 2024 at 2:11 PM
BYD's case is a bit like Tesla: they design and produce in-house many crucial components. Would be also very interesting to see a study comparing VW group in China vs EU or SAIC vs VW EU
December 2, 2024 at 12:46 PM
Well that bribe will be swallowed with time by the higher labor cost, I suspect it's logistics, Elon Melon knows Giga Europe will always need parts front CN and north DE is convenient but again... he could have gone a few more kilometers eastward...
May 13, 2024 at 11:09 AM
Okay but those (alleged) subsidies were one off, long term higher labor cost will reverse the balance...
