Now try getting a similarly descriptive depiction of January 6th on Gemini. I'm no fan of China, but there's a bit of xenophobia going on here and people are being a bit blind about their native LLMs own internal censorship.

Basically, you just need a model that runs deep enough, and to work on your prompt and you'll get past the guardrail.

As an example - there have been some posts on here saying they can't get any actual details on "Tank Man" but I suspect they're either running small local models or using the online site (which I'm suspecting is more sensitive due to hosting location). I ran the following on a 70b model locally:

Yeah I suspect there are different guardrails depending on size of model/depth of analysis. Whatever, it's all fun :).

A cynic would say that it's just a conspiracy amongst the US tech-bros to ensure their closed-source models are inefficiently designed to help sales of over-priced GPUs...
