Big fan of all things sports and Nottingham. I now live in Milton Keynes and work in marketing.
Sometimes it's possible for two conflicting reactions to be true at once.

#nffc returning to Europe should be celebrated.

But, football fans reset expectations to new goals.

Missing out on CL in this manner is a huge disappointment - it's how football supporting works sadly...

The Spurs manager joins a long list of other managers who fall into our trap, and then claim they've dominated and deserved to win.

The game went exactly to plan for #NFFC and Nuno owned the inferior Postecoglou tactically.

He has his top players back, no excuses now.

A big factor today was the lack of trust Nuno has in the bench.

We are suffering mentally and physically but there's no real rotation and when the game is on the line, Sangare, Sosa & Danilo aren't coming on.

We didn't fancy it today and seemed to be wasting time at 0-0.

Reflecting on yesterday's #nffc game, if you lose, best to lose in that fashion. Not at full strength but pushed them v hard. Jota is a menace off the bench.

Frustrating to have a mountain to climb, I think Morato needs to be LCB and the new combination on the right was exposed.

And that is why Nuno is a top PL manager and Rooney was sacked by Plymouth.

He doesn't understand tactics, doesn't look at previous formations.

We are through and the wingers don't have 120+ mins in legs.

I didn't think I could hold Southgate in any higher esteem but this really had an impact on me. Not just as an England fan but as a youth coach and a father of two boys. We're going to miss him as our national football manager, more than we could have possibly imagined. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Pleased to beat City. I never enjoy watching their games. Yes they have changed the game, and have technical ability, but the game is stifled and dull.

And the unsaid thing is how often they foul to stop breaks. They kick the ball away, don't retreat. It's Warnock stuff. #nffc

Tough night for #nffc - Ipswich were dogged and got men behind the ball and breaking that down isn't our strength.

I do think that the switch of the wingers held us back and gets away from CHO cutting in and getting involved in build-up. Elanga's pace works well outside.

#nffc deserve to be well behind but home team decisions not helping.

Never, ever a free kick that led to the first. As for the pen, a disgrace. Arms in a natural position when jumping, by side. Not even looking.

How can it be a clear and obvious error. Appalling.

Difficult evening for #nffc. Real opportunity to return to Wembley so a risk to make changes. However in 2025 the league is priority.

No one did themselves any favours aside from two assists from Sangare.

Poor pitch, ref missed a pen on TA.

Ruthless, professional shootout.

Utterly ruthless from #nffc but really bewildering tactics from Brighton.

Perhaps the acclaim of being a model club went to their heads picking 5 forwards & 1 CM v a Champions League contender. Chaotic HT subs HT & no adaptation to our strengths.

Nuno absolutely owned Hürzeler.

In Temple Bar, Dublin. The band comes on for their set and starts with this.

Fantastic stuff, but not quite as good as the City Ground in full voice! #nffc

Ola Aina has made a habit of these clearances. Great defensive awareness and well executed.

Massive moment in our season.

#NFFC
Ola Aina off the line! 😮

Jan Bednarek's header was destined for goal, but the @NFFC defender made a vital intervention!

You can look at subs, game management, & taking the foot off the gas, but ultimately VAR/Taylor almost gifted Southampton a point.

It should have been 4-1 to #NFFC v 10 men, and somehow it is a nervejangler.

Refs at this level are not volunteers and it simply isn't good enough.
January 19, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Despite the xG & saves by Sels it's frustrating to lose the equaliser from a set piece. A foul but cute and borderline, clearly impeding but Ref never strong enough to give it though or VAR to overturn.

Maybe subs could have been earlier to stem the flow and bring on legs.

Once again the ref really let #nffc down, favouring the bigger club.

When you are grinding it out, facing set pieces and they are throwing on quality forwards, you can't have him allowing cynical trips and punishing us for dissent following his own errors. Really poor.

Really pleased for Ramon Sosa today. Hasn't had many opportunities but a very productive day for him. Looks a classy footballer.

And another difficult day for those who think Ryan Yates is a Championship player.

A hairy first half, but the second the defensive shape was absolutely outstanding. Usually when you bring on a third centre back with 30 to go, you are worried. But it seems to lift us. Wolves ran out of ideas completely and it was a canter.

It's a really weird experience watching #nffc at the moment. With all the tension, anxiety and concern now dissipated, it's hard to know how to approach what's happening.

It's like the 80s again when Forest winning was part of daily life and routines.

Made it look easy today.
December 29, 2024 at 5:22 PM
Outstanding defensive display yet again for #nffc.

#thfc played into our hands. Because we aren't seen as European contenders, teams approach us offensively, leaving it wide open for MGW and Elanga.

Once leading, we look near impossible to break down once we go to the five.
December 26, 2024 at 5:44 PM
The 3 x CB formation really suits our wing backs and it was no surprise seeing them combine for the goal.

Morato massively deserved the start and while you don't really want 2 x CAMs in midfield, they do work hard and can drop back allowing the CBs to step in and help.

Brentford are lauded as the model club, the standard. The example to all.

#nffc depicted as scattergun, chaotic. Relegation favourites.

The reality is that Forest have surpassed them. Doing it differently, and on today's evidence, we look a lot better outfit across the park.
December 21, 2024 at 5:04 PM
Southampton are in the situation where the odd point or win is a negative because it solidifies Martin's position and his ridiculous persistence in playing this kind of football.
December 15, 2024 at 7:19 PM
You can't overlook the impact that Pep has made tactically in modern football. His influence has changed all levels of the game.

But sometimes he gets too arrogant and funky. You can't play Nunes at LB at this level.
December 15, 2024 at 6:27 PM
Emery was moaning about VAR and a penalty. Quite clearly Anderson was fouled in the build up. #nffc
