Very productive workshop at ECPR! Got plenty of feedback, met plenty of nice and talented researchers, and I definitely look forward to returning next year

Apparently, humans *love* to punish.

In view of his inauguration just one day ago and the series of executive orders signed, I am still scratching my head over the fact that #Trump used to be a #Democrat. From #Europe (and maybe from the #US), that sounds totally unbelievable, and yet...?

It seems to me that all parties are losing in the #war between #Russia and #Ukraine. Do you agree? Or do you believe that there’s at least one winner, #Putin? #democracy #politics #internationalrelations

This was the most moving part of my interview with Daniele Archibugi, or at least the part that made the strongest impression on me. “These people are suffering. For what? For 100 kilometers?” #democracy #politics #internationalrelations

While condemning #Putin's actions as criminal, Daniele Archibugi suggests that the European Union has some responsibility in the Ukrainian crisis. Do you agree? #democracy #politics #internationalrelations

For Daniele Archibugi, we should have #democracy beyond states but not to the point of a #world #government because of the authoritarian risk. Do you agree that it’s the right level of centralization?

Daniele Archibugi wants #democratic values and procedures to extend beyond individual nations and shape international systems and organizations. Do you think it’s realistic or utopian? #politics #internationalrelations

The witch-like ‘Befana’ visits all children to fill their stockings with candies and toys if they have behaved well. So if you didn’t find any in yours this morning, maybe that means you haven’t? In this case, beware cause she may fill it with coal or garlic instead 🤭

For me, January 6, a holiday in Italy, had always been associated with the Christian feast of epiphany.
But I discovered that Italians get very excited for another even older tradition, as you can see with this video I took in Arezzo today.
