I think I've missed the Red deer rut at Royal Studley this year. Everything seemed to be settled and sorted this morning.
A Red deer stag lays in the green grass floor. He is looking forward with a full antlers and a diffused background of brown gold leaves.

Kingfisher from this mornings visit to #RSPB St Aidans 🪶
The picture shows a European Kingfisher perched on a thin branch with a blurred background of reeds. The Kingfisher is facing away and looking to the left. It has bright blue feathers running down the centre of its back and flecks on its head. It has darker blue feathers on the wings and has bright orange chest and cheeks. A Gannet reminding me to always look up at Bempton Cliffs this summer for #SuperSeabirdSunday 🪶
A Gannet perches on the side of a cliff and is looking straight up. To the left two more Gannets are nestled against the cliff face whilst the right of image is a blurred grey blue sea. The Gannet is a large seabird with predominantly white body, wings and tail. The the tips of the wings are black on adult birds like this. The head is a peach orange colour with striking blue eyes and eye ring. The bill is large for grabbing fish and is a silver grey colour. The webbed feet of the bird are black with thin yellow stripes along the joints.

Red Kite shot from the recent visit to Gigrin Farm. 🪶 My first real test of #Nikon 300mm pf f4.
The Red Kite is a large raptor with reddish brown body and base of the wings and tail, which also have white plumage and then black wing tips. It has a silver grey head and yellow beak and talons. In the shot the bird is flying upwards facing toward the camera whilst clutching a piece of food. It is set against a blurred green and blue background.

I finally manged a trip to Gigrin Farm at the weekend. 100's of Red Kite images to work through. This is a shot of the Leucistic Kite that regularly visits. 🪶
The image shows a Red Kite flying low and banking towards the camera over a blurred yellow and green grassland. The bird is a large raptor with predominantly white feathers which is due to a lack of pigmentation. It has more reddish brown and light brown feathers dotted around it's back, wings and tail.

A Puffin preparing to land at Bempton Cliffs for #SuperSeabirdSunday 🪶
A Puffin preparing to land with wings spread out and and feet down at RSPB Bempton Cliffs. The bird has a black back, wings, neck strap and back of the head. It has a white underside, wings and face with the classic colour banded large beak and orange feet. The bird is set against the blue green sea.

I haven't posted a Kingfisher shot for a while, one of my favourite UK birds. This was taken in between Osprey visits at Horn Mill Trout farm a couple of weeks ago. 🪶
A male European Kingfisher is perched on thin with thin green leaves around it and is set against a soft green background. It is facing the camera and looking right as viewed. The bird has the bright orange chest, cheek and underside plumage. With a white patch on the back of the head and underneath the long black dagger like bill. The characteristic light blue plumage can be seen on the top of the head, base of the bill and shoulder.

A Mandarin Duck at one of my local parks, a bird I haven't had an opportunity to photograph before. What a beauty. Alt text description had to be copied straight from the Collins guide book 😉 🪶
