Cole was phenomenal and very well supplied by Sellars, Beardsley, Lee et al. The promotion season and the first in the Premier are among my favourite memories watching the Toon.

Regularly have this debate with fellow Newcastle fans. It’s as if football never existed pre-Premier League. The only way City will get relegated would be for matters off rather than on the pitch.

That makes me feel old. Was in the leazes end and, at the time, it was the greatest goal I had ever seen live!
