There is no guarantee that a landlord will be profitable Destinie. Plenty fail and lose money every year. If you think landlording is a guaranteed golden ticket, then by all means, try being a landlord and find out for yourself.

Somebody has to pay for the property/mortgage, property taxes, maintenance/repairs, insurance, and all utilities --and you do that whether you are a owner or a tenant. Neither ever gets a free lunch; the costs of living apply to everyone. At least renters aren't trapped with an illiquid asset.
