I practically stopped writing after finishing my book. Then someone I worked with said “How can you call yourself a writer when you’re not writing?” I started blogging to stay in practice.

I took a needed break with a job change. Everything is just random when I write. I find a name on a birthday or death day list and find an obit and hope it’s interesting. Then I go from there. Most of these I try to write in under four hours. Some deserve more time so I might go further.

Felix Hernandez gets my vote. He’s the Paul Skenes of the previous decade - likely the best pitcher in his league & not getting as much help from the rest of the team.
I’m thinking about others, but most have some reservation.

Felix Hernandez gets my vote. He’s the Paul Skenes of the previous decade - likely the best pitcher in his league & not getting as much help from the rest of the team.

I was playing racquetball years back - showing off I swung behind the back to play the ball. I got the point, but the racquet smacked me in the face over my left eye. I was a bloody mess - still have the scar - and obviously failed at trying to impress the persons for whom I was showing off.

We used the same start word; I didn’t try to solve the word at #2 and played an eliminator word there. I’m the Tom Kite of Wordle - play it safe but never get a chance for an eagle.
