It’s an honour to be awarded fellowship of the Learned Society of Wales today (row 4, 2 in 🫣). The achievements of other Fellows are inspiring. It’s a stimulus for me to up my game and do more. Credit to all @MonmouthshireCC - public service is a team sport.

The wild horses of the Black Mountains and surrounding areas. Features of the landscape since Roman times. You will more often than not catch a glimpse when out walking in these parts of Monmouthshire

People love to visit Tintern Abbey and the Wye Valley (I do too) in Monmouthshire. It sometimes overshadows Llanthony Abbey sitting further north at the foot of the Black Mountains. It’s a stunning place. The ancient ruins talk to a time past and the stunning surrounding hills just have to be walked
