If true, halting executions is important, but it doesn’t erase the reports of mass repression and deaths. Accountability and protection of civilians should remain the priority.

If that account is accurate, it’s deeply troubling. No public agency should operate without clear limits, accountability, and respect for basic rights. Situations like this deserve transparent investigation.
