I read them, you are entitled to your opinion, I dont agree
Let's leave it there
November 13, 2025 at 8:28 AM
a month ago we were told Burnham was plotting against him, this week its Streeting, next week someone else
there is not going to be a leadership contest!
November 12, 2025 at 9:26 PM
i dont think it works that way.
Johnson was heavily criticised for appointing so easily identified as Tory, but I dont think that means Starmer can sack him.
He would be able to appoint his successor if they persuade Gibb to leave.
Why does he have such influence anyway? he is only one of the board
November 12, 2025 at 9:25 PM
you mean you want him to interfere in the independence of the BBC, thus making it a political football?
and you would be happy if the next PM was Farage for him to do the same and install someone from the far right like matt goodwin or darren grimes?
November 12, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Oh I read it, but you are clearly one of those people who look for something to best the government with, rather than recognise the good they are doing
You also seem to have been happier in opposition
Frankly, there is only so much time I can waste on someone stuck in the past
Bye
November 12, 2025 at 6:19 PM
A centre left party is a centre party by definition
I get where you are coming from, you dislike starmer and will accept any criticism because of that
There is always "yourparty" you will be happy there
November 12, 2025 at 6:14 PM
I am a pensioner, I cant afford the book and really don't think its worth the effort of getting a bus to the library to see if they have it in their fiction section
November 12, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Are you saying you cancelled before the GE?
I would have thought Corbyn was right up your street
you complain about him having an easy ride, but you left rather than fight your corner?
I didnt join until after the GE
November 12, 2025 at 5:26 PM
And it is obvious he had nothing to do with winning the general election
November 12, 2025 at 4:51 PM
No, but i would never accept one source as a basis for anything
Especially a source praised by kuensberg!
Is that where you got your information for how the party machine got 275k members to vote for him?
November 12, 2025 at 4:49 PM
I would love to know how the party machine engineered the MPs to end up with the shortlist they did and then engineered the membership to vote for him?
And if they could do that, why is Powell deputy leader?
As conspiracy theories go yours is a classic!
November 12, 2025 at 4:33 PM
He has taken a position, and he says it is for the BBC to decide
Would you prefer him to say it was stupid of them to show the panorama program?
November 12, 2025 at 4:13 PM
How do you think he got to be leader?
It wasnt handed to him on a plate!
November 12, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Either the BBC is independent, or it isnt
Which do you want?
November 12, 2025 at 4:10 PM
You see it as right wing, I see it as pragmatic
I certainly dont think labour is left wing, and I am glad about that
I much prefer a centre left party which is what they are
Who are you going to vote for?
November 12, 2025 at 11:59 AM
So you think that the changes they have not made on welfare outweigh the good they have done?
I think you must be very much on the left if you see the proposed changes to be right wing
But fair enough, not sure where you are going to place your cross next time though
November 12, 2025 at 11:49 AM
you are so right, we need an end to the right wing policies like:
free school meals
tenants rights
workers rights
increasing min wage
sure start centres
more GPs
More appointments
more house building
on shore wind and solar etc
I really thought we had seen the last of policies like these
November 12, 2025 at 10:36 AM
You dont seriously expect the government to repay that?
How did you calculate that?
November 12, 2025 at 9:02 AM
i agree
i tend to think that if someone tells me something that seems odd or untrue it is down to me to check it
I believe that if i want to employ somoen to do a job, like be a councillor, it helps if they can show they have done something similar
November 10, 2025 at 9:19 PM
no, it doesnt, but it is fair to point out that he sits where he does because people voted for him and his party, and they are responsible!
They cant wash their hand and say we didnt think they would do that, experienced councillors said there was no real fat to cut and people didnt believe them
November 10, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Echo other comments
How did nigel farages girlfriend pay for a house
How many surgeries has he held
Who would be an independent DG of the BBC?
What is the balance between wind, solar, and fossil fuels in terms of providing energy?
November 10, 2025 at 3:09 PM
I know of 1 person who was refused a bus pass for a SEND child, appealed, and got a taxi
Getting rid of providing transport will be an uphill challenge for him
On the other hand, people voted for them to cut costs so every parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent, or friend, of a SEND child is responsible
November 10, 2025 at 11:35 AM
The board appointment, but they ha very to be aware that the charter requires renewal at the start of 28, which means negotiations will start soon
If they appoint right wingers it is entirely possible the govt will seek changes
November 10, 2025 at 9:39 AM
Would it matter?
If labour lost the next GE wouldnt starmer stand down?
I suppose he could form a coalition first, but it might require 3 or 4 parties
Either way, polanski wont side with reform so its work with labour or be in the wilderness
