Trump imposed tariffs on Santa’s gifts. But don’t worry, it’s the elves that paid the tariffs according to Trump. And he says the reason why the gifts are smaller is inflation. Maybe kids will believe him. Who’s going to tell the kids he’s using the added tariffs to pay his income tax?

The ballroom is the proof that the US is now a plutocracy, ruled by the wealthy. It will be viewed as the turning point in history when it wasn’t “by the people“ anymore.
Demos lost by petty fights and fear(the dark side of the force).
A Congress that fought for the people would stops this insult.

Grok: what are the consequences on the poor and average class of replacing a progressive taxation system with a regressive import tax?
...disproportionately harms (these groups) by raising living costs, reducing purchasing power, and worsening inequality, with limited short-term economic upside ...

Grok: is the new trade deal between the US and UK better than the trade deal that UK had before Brexit with the EU?
TLDR:
The pre-Brexit UK-EU trade relationship was unequivocally better than the 2025 US-UK trade deal for the UK.

Experts have reverted to looking at The Office to predict what Trump is going to do.

Looks like Trump expected congress to stop the Tariffs so he could blame the weakest and replace them with MTG clones. Now, he’s making shit up as he goes, coz he never thought it would get this far. Congress is watching 3 guys taking control of the airplane mid flight dumping fuel to lighten load

Maybe the best thing to do is let Trump crucify himself with these tariffs. It might be what it takes for Magans to see he is not a god but a charlatan. Maybe congress should let him hang himself like a Strange Fruit until the Magans themselves set him on fire. Exorcise USA of Trump. Good song title

Very accurate description of what republican Christians think of the pope and his messages on compassion.
Wearing a bright blue suit, texting, and then sleeping at Pope Francis’s funeral. What an embarrassing mess.

Trump is a fucking liar. The phi in his equation literally says that the price increase of the imported good will convince him not to buy it, thus reducing imports to match exports. That is literally what the equation means. It computes the price increase on the consumer needed to stifle imports.

🤦🏼 WHOOPS — An economist whose work Trump used to calculate the tariffs says they massively screwed up the math: “I would strongly prefer the policy be scrapped entirely, but barring that Trump should divide the results by FOUR.”

Imagine that Jesus and Lucifer are unrecognized on the Titanic.

If you hear that only one person perished, it would be Jesus.

On the other hand, if only one boat made it, Lucifer would be on it.

Musk says that empathy is a bug that leads to suicide, of course he would be on that boat too.

can anybody else type this in Gemini to see if you have the same answer I do? "who is the worlds biggest looser of value?"

I have a hard time with "tariffs will bring jobs back". Banks won't finance business cases that require tariffs to be in place for 20 to 30 years. These products will always be more expensive than the international ones. Consumers will always be on the loosing end. Middle and poor class more so.

Has anyone had success pointing their MAGA friends towards gemini, bing or chatgpt? For instance, 'can you explain "tariffs are a tax cut for the american people"' tries to be fairly balanced and isn't condescending.

I hope everyone understands that threatening Canada only helps Putin at the price (that Trump is willing to pay) of destroying North America's economy. It legitimizes invasions, territorial gains and divides military aid away from Ukraine. It only serves to destroy international coalitions for peace

Can I request a feature? How can we increase the credibility of posts? For the moment, we have to scan through responses, and the original posters can't edit their posts.
It would be nice if we could tag a response that has relevant facts about a post. Like "Best Answer" but oriented on credibility.

"The Russians have suffered enough". Even the Devil has more empathy. Putin threw bombs that exploded kid's guts across the wall in front of their parent's eyes. Russians will never suffer enough for what they did in Ukraine.

"The Russians have suffered enough". I think we need to look at who owns the 810k wallets that lost 2B while Trump got rich. We might understand why a president came to say such an evil thing. It's like saying "Poor robbers spent money on the bullets that killed my wife, they suffered enough."

Why aren't red states demanding a 4% tax reduction for the poor and 2% tax cut to the rich instead of the proposed reverse? What am I missing?

To pay for the tarifs, voters will need to work more hours if they want to keep their purchasing power, about a week for the median worker. This TrumpTax will barely cover the cost of the tax break to the rich. A tax break is equivalent to a salary hike. Voters agreed to work a week for that bonus.
