Left-leaning Dem from suburban Detroit. News junkie/media consultant/NPR. Democrat Precinct Delegate. Committed to saving democracy.
Tonight I co-hosted my very first political fundraiser for ⁦Mallory McMorrow‬⁩. Overflow crowd heard her tell her story and vision for Michigan. She’s smart and authentic - exactly what our state and country need right now

Today is a great day for America.

Not only was our #NoKings rally in Ferndale, Michigan huge, it was peaceful, positive, and patriotic. The only vitriol was focused on our leaders who don’t believe in our Constitution and only want power and wealth.

This is what makes America great!!

I love how some public radio and television stations are fighting back . . . . And with a little attitude!

As traditional local media fades it’s replaced by independent outlets. We’ve decided to help them grow and have developed a very inexpensive mobile app. If you have a fave (like Distill Social) contact me - we need to help these efforts grow and increase their impact. @jacapps

I bet not many Republican congresspeople will be hosting town halls this weekend.

I really hope Trump has an enjoyable golf game today 😖

How y’all feeling about those Trump Tariffs?

Between the measles, social security, our nation’s security etc I’m kinda thinking there’s a pretty huge march on Washington in our future

During the November campaign, Cory Booker came to Detroit to campaign for Elissa Slotkin. He was smart, energetic, funny, and someone who truly loves America. We need much more of what he did for the past 24 hours!!!

It’s always comforting to watch the news while you are at 35,000 feet since Trump took over the FAA
March 11, 2025 at 1:50 PM
You know the economy is in trouble when Trump’s daily market manipulation by pausing the tariffs isn’t working

It’s Saturday at 8am. Suburban Detroit. Wind chill = 0 degrees
I asked him why he’s doing this. His answer? “Because I’m an American”
We need more of this.

Democracy at work - a standing room crowd packs a town hall with Michigan state Sen Malloy McMorrow and Rep Natalie Price. Civil, informative and relevant. Hard to believe Republicans are afraid of engaging with their constituents.

Plane mishaps, kids dying of measles, unemployment up, consumer confidence down, and a bull market is turning to shit. How is it possible for one person to screw things up this badly, this quickly?

Saw this just now at a diner in a middle class part of suburban Detroit. It’s about more than the cost/dozen eggs - Trumps policies are raising prices across the board.

At least the price of soup hasn’t gone up - yet!

MAGA is going to go crazy over this.

I wonder how they are going to blame Biden?
