Greetings from our Summer School at the Vjosa River, Albania 👋🏼

…and this is what it looks like to sample floodplain sediments at one of the last wild rivers in Europe to test them for microplastics 👩🏼‍🔬 Felt like being a child again, playing around in the mud - but doing it for research this time :D

…still fascinated by both, out robot 🤖 simply moving samples from the heating unit (TGA) to the analysing unit (GC/MS), and how cool the sunlight and shadow look from the moving trees 🌳 outside the building

This is what it looks like to weigh 7 samples for our new devise. Step 1: Measuring known polymer types (here: polyamide) with known masses. And yes, measuring 0.04 mg microplastics without the 1st coffee in the morning is a tough one, at least for me :D
