One uncle of mine is well into conspiracy theories and flat earth stuff because he personally experienced one undeniably bizarre incident while on a military training exercise in the Andes in the 70s. He can't be convinced that his incident is unrelated to the rest, he believes them all.

IRL - the Mums at school pick up, a few losing weight quickly enough that I hope that it's not cancer. Not sure if it's a resurgence as such, as the pressure to lose weight post children has always been there, maybe now they are just doing so more successfully.
