The GFA, at least in theory, made brexit enviable but they found a way through. Leaving the ECHR is less likely than brexit and easier to patch. I don't see the ECHR as a phenomenal driver for Ireland unification. Something similar can be said about the cost of brexit.

I don't think that this will happen without the UK government asking for this, which is very unlikely. It would be more pragmatic if most people in NI applied for an Irish passport. This would put the UK government in a really awkward situation but 40% against is still too high
