Next #picotron project?

Need to get a solid #bomberman engine in place first and see where that takes me. I have some ideas for different modes based on previous projects I've started but never finished.

Normal and Detonator bombs in place. Up to 4 players.

Quick update on my #picotron game "Radar Rally" which is based on #rallyx. With the help of @gentspixelclub.bsky.social, this is just about done.

Just added an option to make the radar clearer as shown but, apart from that, ready to release in the day or so!

My #RallyX inspired game, Radar Rally has been a WIP for over 5 months (ever since @gentspixelclub.bsky.social mentioned it)! Finally has #chiptune title music.

Its also got a map editor and the ability to create custom "map packs". Just polishing up to do now!

Haven't posted an update on my #picotron #rallyx inspired game - Radar Rally - in ages. Work on it has been sporadic but it's getting there, thanks to @gentspixelclub.bsky.social

Lots of game modes, including mirrored tracks!

After a brief test of a solid radar for #picotron Radar Rally, I've reverted to transparent again but with smaller icons with an outline. This should now be visible whatever the mode or colour scheme. Thanks for quick feedback @minionsoft.bsky.social

No trouble at all. That was my intention but, if all the feedback I got said it looked better black, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Trying a solid background for the radar in #picotron Radar Rally. This is necessary in "rat race" mode otherwise you can't see the cars but thinking of adopting it everywhere (at worst, an option). Just that much clearer!

How much can I pack into my #picotron Radar Rally map editor??

Border style added (sprites are placeholders). Thinking the border style will also dictate the background music for the level (since I'm running out of space 😂).

Made a few Radar Rally changes based on great feedback from @gentspixelclub.bsky.social including the ability to make the chasers go into "flee" mode at the start of a level for a few seconds.

"Rat Race" mode added to #picotron Radar Rally, instead of just being a power-up.
Getting a few sfx in place and sketching out a really annoying version of 3 blind mice!

Wrapping mazes added for #picotron Radar Rally. Means you can add #pacman style tunnels!

#picotron Radar Rally map editor coming along nicely. Have added in a "Radar Rat Race" power-up that turns flags into cheese (why not? 🤣) and doubles the scores.

Also optimised large maps which ran a bit jittery.

#picotron Radar Rally editor can now toggle pac-man mode (a special power-up) to check the maze looks and plays as expected.

Short lunchtime session on my #picotron #rally game.

"power-up" box that changes every 10 seconds/whenyou collect a yellow flag.

Also negative versions of some power-ups, e.g., "fast-" which makes chasers faster rather than the player! Thanks @gentspixelclub.bsky.social

Experimenting with different #picotron #rallyx tile sets. Just cos! Pseudo 3d effect is more pronounced but I think my eyes are bleeding 🤣

Back from a long weekend & straight into implementing a couple of excellent #rallyx ideas from @gentspixelclub.bsky.social

Long overbridges &, the smaller ones to the right have random N-S or E-W orientation.

Redone tiles to make easier & also makes bridges really distinctive
