As with anything it will evolve. My experience is that it produces very good results right now. It’s not difficult to see where it’s going and how much of an impact it will have

To me the last few years of AI is the single biggest leap we have made since the mobile phone and the internet. You do have to see through the noise and marketing baloney to spot the real developments taking place.

Law, engineering, software, architecture are among a few disciplines that will be totally changed by AI. The repetitive grunt work will be done 10 times quicker allowing professionals time to spend on design and ideation.

As a developer using Copilot and Claude Sonnet it is mind blowing how much it can can help with things like test cases, code reviews, autocomplete and code snippets. It’s a glimpse into how actual jobs will change in the future.

As with most new tech there is lots of hype and flapping around on “use cases”. Classic example is 4G and 5G mobile. It’s just faster internet but the equipment manufacturers pitched it as transformative. That said AI looks like being to the 2020/30s what internet was to 90s/00s

A lot of the time it is your local wifi that’s the issue and not the WAN connection to the ISP. Your local wifi can be affected by lots of things including the weather
