Another daily humbling:
Guy sees me coming up the subway steps and excitedly says “oh my God!”
Though I didn’t recognize him, I excitedly reply “oh my God, hey!”

Realizing he was excited to see the stranger behind me, I didn’t know what else to do so I literally ran away.

Nothing more humbling than seeing your reflection under the subways’s light at 5am.

So many award shows out here for celebrities and athletes. Where are the award shows for first responders and actual heroes?

Don’t be a “what can I do for myself?” person.

Be a “what can I do for someone else?” person.

Doctor: “Where do you have pain?”
Me: <sings> “Head, shoulders, knees and toes. Knees and toes. Eyes and ears and mouth and nose. Head, shoulders, knees and toes. Knees and toes.”

I’ve never felt more like a New Yorker than just running to grab a cab and saying, “83rd and 3rd, please.”
