Monarez did not call this hearing. She has no intention of creating a “spectacle.” She was invited to testify and she agreed. Who her legal counsel is is not relevant to questions about her firing or CDC practices or its leadership.

The response was so unified, immediate and consistent from many Trump allies, one might think that all those people had been prepared for this, told what to say and how to blame millions of people who are not MAGA for the death of Charlie Kirk.
