You have to see it to believe it. 22% favor repeal of the 19th and 21% adoption of a household vote (weighted). Those %s grow rapidly among complementarians - rising to 50% of men comps (30% of women comps) favoring a household vote; 42% of men comps (28% of women comps) favor repeal of the 19th.

The trick is that White CN has been found distinct on racialized issues (voting, policing, etc) but hasn't been tested on other issues. We did that and found almost zero daylight on social and economic issues between racial groups as their CN climbs. There's a LOT more agreement than anyone thought

For instance, a majority (53%) believes that we should remain impartial to retain our objectivity, but a sizable minority (32%) disagrees. We almost all agree that 'educating the public is an essential part of my career' (only 19% do not agree). Lots more fun insights about poli sci profs in here.

OK, journal publishers are baaaad, but this is another level of hell. We can't even see Springer journal content unless we consent to a high level of individualized tracking or else pay you money? How about I just not publish in or cite work in your journals? I'll do that for free. How about that?

Opposition to abortion is soft among Christian nationalists. That doesn't mean they are moderates, CNs are simply divided. On the other side, those who reject CN are considerably united in rejecting a Constitutional amendment banning abortion and supporting one that enshrines abortion rights. 2/3

It seems like a universal experience in the social sciences to face problems with peer reviewing - it's certainly taking longer and editors report that it's hard to recruit reviewers. I've been interested in getting data on this for a decade and we just pub'd the 2nd installment. Peer review is...

@brooklynwalker.bsky.social and I look for LGB Christian nationalists and we find a substantial amount! [side note: there's no "T" in our analysis simply bc the surveys did not include a ? to capture that identity). About 1/6 of LGB Americans adopt a CN worldview, which is tightly tied to attendance

Aside from replication, the critique from @johninazu.bsky.social and Philip Jenkins is the meaning of agreement, that it probably just means Christians should flourish in society. I have lots of other data, so here's a taste with more in the blog post - most 7M believers want rule by religious law.

Happy Patriot's Day to ALL who Must Observe. May you reflect on the sacrifices of those who sought to save This Great Christian Nation and how you may appropriately sacrifice yourself for The Leader in the coming year.

Day 6 of the 12 Days of Potato hit a high note - poutine with mushroom (veg) gravy. Wish the curds were squeakier but this was delicious.
