Also, this is the view from Makapu’u Lighthouse Point. I’ve never seen water so blue.

I was fortunate to spend Thanksgiving week on O’ahu. A gorgeous place, as you can imagine. Pearl Harbor has been a fascination for me for decades, so I am pleased I got to go there.
1) Diamond Head at sunset
2) Me going into Pearl Harbor
3) The USS Arizona Memorial

On Thanksgiving morning I was lucky enough to run the Honolulu Turkey Trot through Kapi’Olani Park. It definitely is easier to run at sea level than at altitude. 🏃🏻‍♂️🏝️🤟🏻

A concert on a school night? You bet! I love hearing Sharon Isbin perform. And the Calidore String Quartet played beautifully.

This morning I ran the Back to School 5K for Denver Public Schools. (I don’t know my time because I forgot to charge my Fitbit last night.). It was a beautiful morning, and a nice route around the lake in Berkeley Lake Park.

Ran the Denver 5K this morning. (27:36) Not too bad for an old guy. Nice route around Sloan’s Lake. The glass was part of the swag.

Some pics from my Ireland trip.
1) A selfie at Dublin Airport.
2) A selfie at Dublin Pride
3) Harp Ensemble Day at An Chuirt Chruitireachta - an Irish harp festival. 118 harps!

I got to see two of the Giants of the Sperrin in Omagh, Northern Ireland. The artist, Thomas Dambo, uses wood and recycled materials in his sculptures. The first is Nowanois - the Storytellers. You can judge the size based on my hand on the big toe. The second is Ceoldan - the Stargazer.

I love waterfalls and the sound of moving water. This is Falls of the Mare in Glenariff Forest Park, near Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Great hiking, lovely views.

(Going to try this from my phone.). This tune is “Eleanor Plunkett” by Turlough O’Carolan. Looking through some old documents, I discovered my great-grandmother’s maiden name was Plunkett. I was inspired to learn this tune, which was arranged by Grainne Yeats.

I was part of a relay team for the Colfax Marathon this morning. I ran the second leg - 3.8 miles - with a time of 34:52. Not too bad. It was a beautiful day for a run. 🏃

Went to hear the Colorado Symphony last night. The Beethoven 7th is one of my favorites. I enjoyed the Hidas concerto, although the soloist needed to be mic’ed better. His sound often got swallowed up by the orchestra.

Going to try and post this video. This is Gabhaim molta Bride, which translates to “I will praise Bridget”. Bridget was a Celtic goddess who was absorbed into Christianity. This arrangement is by Grainne Hambly.

Made it through Movember. Please consider making a charitable donation to an organization of your choosing, especially one that focuses on men's physical or mental health. (Honestly, probably going to shave this off tomorrow.)
