I mean new different.
They had their time. New stuff needed.

It's a pity they can't come up with new films.

It's obviously not an educational priority - there is greater need in Ed.

Their previous planning. I was listening to this on Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart's podcast. The courses were not included in tory funding plans. AC said that he'd heard they were looking for someone to donate the 1 million needed for the kids to complete the courses and do GCSEs.

I don't think anyone is normal. Once you get beneath the surface everyone I know is a bit weird. Then again I don't know 99.99....% of the population of the world so.....

I have sympathy but the Tories didn't include funding for it in their financial planning.

I have low expectations of what Trump knows.
The guy's a pantomime stooge.

They weren't so good at siting the city as it turned out.

Ilkley Manor House? I hope you've got your hat on....
...I'm sorry.......

Starmer's response was good yesterday - they did and said nothing about it before.

Maybe they meant Bilbao x...
Balboa x...Bilboa too.

Agreed.

Watched Alien around 1980 - what a great film. I watched it again 20 years later and saw it much more as a slow burn movie. I think that probably reflects how the action scenes have come to dominate - not always for the best.

Hahaha.

Watching A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim at this moment. It is the best version.

When there's no light af the end of the tunnel, what do you do? It's not a response I would have now either, but I understand it. Rationale goes out of the window when you live desperately.

I realised - from my own family - that my parents - to my mind squandering - of money gambling on the horses and at bingo was merely the economics of desperation.

I strongly resisted this explaining that it's not that they can't budget, but that they don't have the money to budget with.
December 20, 2024 at 3:43 PM
It's not something that's fully realised unless you've experienced it. I used to work in a local authority teaching adults maths, and in recent times my middle class, well meaning colleagues proposed teaching budgeting skills to those struggling with finances.

Haha. No sympathy for thieves - especially preying on the vulnerable.

Call that a Christmas Card? It's a Sin.
December 20, 2024 at 3:30 PM
I say merry because it sounds better. Like greetings rather than hello and farewell rather than bye.

I've recently retired and found that every day is really a Saturday. Woo hoo.

My wife lived in Horbury. Small world sometimes.

What a great picture - especially as I've seen that view hundreds of times from when I used to go out on Friday and Saturday nights...a bit later on in history though. Maybe there was more neon then. (And I'm from Wakfield - born about a mile away off Dewsbury Road).
