I don't really understand what you're arguing against. We understand there are solutions. It's just simply that loads of 3 beds in Tooting are over a million. And that's normal. That's all the quote is saying.

The quote doesn't say you need it, but it's not an unusual price for one in London, hence the quote.

No-one would move from Twitter though. They stay because they have the following there.

Why does Six Music even have news? It's not 1997, I have access to news anytime I want it.

See also national traffic updates on the radio, surely they've dropped that. Bad tail back near Birmingham? Fascinating, but people know about that if they are planning a journey in the area.

Rookie numbers.

Not with that attitude it isn't!

The no-one caring for a year bit feels relevant.

Back when there were stakes.

Thanks. Interesting stuff as was involved from local government side with the roll out. Remember thinking it was pretty slow speeds compared to other countries at the time.

Just to be clear, do you mean they were promoting FTTC rather than FTTP at the point when it was already apparent FTTP was the way to go?
November 10, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Disgusting?

And no-one said anything about it for a year?

Seems weird.
November 10, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Ah, that's why the far right aren't advertising on lasagna recipes then.
November 10, 2025 at 1:49 PM
I'm just advocating for this model that already exists. BBC branded, far right not advertising on Brownie recipes as far as I can see.

Sure, and to protect it you need to modernise.

Tough day to be arguing it's fit for purpose the day after top people have resigned off the back of a right wing campaign.
November 10, 2025 at 10:35 AM
Just do it through BBC Studios.

But if not possible, shows the modern world has passed it by and it's not fit for purpose.

Me neither, but a UK equivalent of those NYT games, with ads or a paid tier seems doable.

One Fine Morning ok, struggled with Bergman Island.

Yes, all posts like this should start with cost of your first home and what the house prices to earnings ratio was at that point.
November 9, 2025 at 1:01 PM
It all feels like a bit of a strawman. Let's start with the house prices to earnings ratio.

But this thread is about an anonymous quote from an insider? It's not a politician saying something in public.
November 8, 2025 at 12:34 PM
The report itself must contradict its own key findings I guess. 🤷‍♂️

You're going onto your own pet topics now, so I'll wish you a good day.

Well, things used to get better for each generation and then that stopped. I don't really know what you mean by "all that gives you", it's the entire issue.

Pensioners now outearn workers, and we've had 8 years of triple lock since this was written.

Pensioners '£20 a week better off' on average than workers
Property, private pensions and higher benefits have pushed incomes of retirees above working families for first time

No soup for you.
November 7, 2025 at 10:13 PM
That's not a useful way to look at it, will always be some better off than others in any cohort. Better to compare people across generations. A teacher recently retired has a better pension and got a cheap house compared to a teacher living a similar life in a similar area.
