Good Lord ordinary clowns are scary enough

Based on one of the few crime novels written by Science Fiction grandmaster Jack Vance. One twisted protagonist! The novel's more extreme and uncomfortable than any TV movie they could've made, rather uncharacteristic of the generally understated and droll author.
