Burnside Bridge (Lower Bridge/Rohrbach Bridge) at Antietam National Battlefield. For more than 3 hours on 9/17/1862, Confederate Gen. Robert Toombs and fewer than 500 Georgia soldiers here repulsed three Federal assaults by Gen. Ambrose Burnside's much larger Ninth Corps.

5th 66th 7th OVI Monument at Dunker Church, Antietam. At 7:30am Lt. Col. Tyndale's Brigade, Maj. Gen. Mansfield's XII Corps, drove Confederates out of the Cornfield, south to Dunker Church. Held the area until 1:30pm when lack of support, heavy losses, and low ammunition compelled their retreat.
