Proust said something along the lines that the main requirement for being a good writer was not about having a grand imaginative conception, but having a great capacity to relate what you saw and heard around you. Alan Bennett is a good example of this, I think.

But anyway, putting the future of smaller farms at risk is precisely what Labour says it isn't doing. Hence the various mitigations they point out. Out of interest, what would be those better ways of securing food independence you allude to?
