Yes. Things will get tougher for him. Populist? I don't put him in that camp. His views are popular because he articulates how things can be, and people see it as accurate.

Having said that, I do believe that the Greens now could be a pivotal axis for many on the left or centre left. Polanski has certainly become a clarion call for the left. I support him, but how it plays out; who knows?

Yes. Down through history those on the left with their varying degrees of difference have nearly always fractured and splintered into groups less effective than they should be.

Yes. Their development, growth and spread features heavily in Nancy McLean's book Democracy in Chains. With particular attention to James Mcgill Buchanan and his acolytes. Milton Friedman among them.
