2017-2018 is a clear turning point for me as an art lover because that's when I really got into David's films. He was a gateway drug for more challenging art for me. I wouldn't be seeking out half of the films and music I do now if it wasn't for me falling down the David Lynch rabbit hole.

He went to college for painting has said that the reason he transitioned to films is because he wanted to put sound to his visuals. The otherworldly soundscapes in his films and how he'd dabble in the space between sound design and music reshaped my perception of what music could be.
