Los Angeles TV producer, writer, and Resister/Opposer happy to be breathing the clean air here at BlueSky

I'm not usually such a potty mouth, but fascists piss me off. Also, I just binge watched Ted Lasso.

Yes, I voted.

California peeps, please return your ballots ASAP for the November 4th Special Election to thwart Republican gerrymandering. #YesOnProp50

This week's Skyfeed cleanse. A colorful tapestry of sunset clouds stretching over Big Tujunga Canyon in the Angeles National Forest northwest of Los Angeles.

Guess I'm overdue for a Skyfeed cleanse. This shot I took on Labor Day weekend down at Venice Beach.

Hope to step away again and connect with nature this weekend...and wishing my Bluesky friends will have the opportunity to do the same. 💙

One of the many things I love about living in California is you always find the best bathroom graffiti. 😍

Time for another Skyfeed cleanse. This was last night's sunset in the Angeles National Forest.

For much of yesterday, smoke from the massive Gifford Fire north of Santa Barbara was funneled south to the L.A. area, ultimately creating the backdrop for an exceptionally brilliant sunset.

Fun fact: I created this protest sign in November of 2016...and almost a decade later, the message--sadly--is still valid. 🤬

One of my favorite signs from this morning's "Rage Against The Regime" protest in Los Angeles.

Since I'm overdue for a Skyfeed cleanse, here's a shot I took this afternoon in Redondo Beach, California. Seeing the dramatic clouds over the ocean, I had to pull over.

Hope everyone's getting a chance to de-stress a bit this weekend. 😍

A Thread: Bunker Hill—One Week Later

Just days after the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1725, the bodies of the colonists killed in the action—including my relative, John Hammond, of Newburyport, MA—were buried on Breed’s Hill by the victorious English troops.

250 years ago tonight, my 5th Great Grandfather, a resident of Newbury (Newburport, MA), took part in the battle commemorated by this granite obelisk. His 25-year-old brother, John, did as well. Their unit provided cover after the fortification on this hill was overwhelmed

I don't know about you, but I'm really liking this "War of the Gargantuas" remake so far.

A little humor to take the edge off the series finale of "The Handmaid's Tale." 🤣

As a timeline cleanse, here's a photo I took last night at Venice Beach.

Overnight, I seem to have acquired a lot of new followers (Thanks, Pete!) Welcome, everybody, and please be patient as I vet and follow back.

Still my favorite Trump baby blimp meme.

And a great metaphor for what he's doing to the country.

Another thing about Musk I frankly find astonishing is that many of the arguments he's used to rail against the federal government--that it's "inefficient," that regulations "stifle innovation," etc.--were the SAME falsehoods Ocean Gate founder Stockton Rush used to justify skimping out on

The fact that this simpering headline was published by the same paper that risked everything to reveal the truth about the unjust war in Vietnam...and whose aggressive Watergate- scandal reporting in the 70s forced the criminal GOP president, Richard Nixon, from office...will never not sicken me.

While scrolling on social media, I'm always on the lookout for fun moments of (unintentional) newsfeed synchronicity. Here's the first one I've come across on Bluesky.... 🤣

Bullshitting around the Campfire

A thread

As the Trump administration continues its relentless assault on the truth, I’ve been thinking a lot about a camping trip from long ago. The year was 1978, in New Hampshire’s White Mountains at the peak of fall foliage season, which was an

Thanks to @northjules.bsky.social, it appears I got a lot of new followers today. Thanks so much! (Please be patient and I'll follow back soon!) Otherwise, I spent the day off the grid rejuvenating in the mountains north of LA. Def what the doc ordered. Here are the highlights from the trip. 😍

Also, Pete: Is that a line of make-up bleed on your white color?

('Course, If you had a decent producer, they never would've let you out looking like that....But anyhoo. 🤣 )

A thread.

This weekend marks the 250th Anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, and numerous celebrations will take place honoring the ordinary citizens who risked their lives standing up to the army of a despotic king.

But the fact that this all is happening at a time when
