So awesome that THIS was the first thing I saw when I logged on here today. Feeling overwhelmed with the pace and cost of living these days and wanting to write - and fighting that nagging voice in my head that says I'm wasting valuable time chasing a silly dream.

or Charity Calendar with each day being an activity to support a local charity. Like the first day is a giant stock pot and an address to a shelter to make lunch for the homeless, day two is a pair of shoes and a leash to walk dogs in the shelter.

We could be strict but if we refuse to actually support the system we can't expect it to work fairly regardless of how harsh or lenient it may be at the core.

I'm not saying the laws are good to begin with but strict enforcement of laws that are key to an inadequately funded system are never going to be anything but harsh.
"You can't come in if you're wet, stand on the steps in the sprinkler to let us verify if you're wet. You're wet you can't come in."

There is being strict on enforcing the laws but when this is not coupled with the allocation of sufficient resources to actually facilitate the process it is the immigrant that suffers. When asylum claims take an average of 1200+ days to process the system itself is broken and strict becomes harsh.
